Bluebell in focus

Today's post, 30th July 2017, begins with the three shots that should have ended the previous post, but due to a major malfunction had to be postponed until now. Nine shots are featured from two contributors.

WINWICK AND BEYOND

The three 'missing' pics are all from Jeff Nicholls. First up is GBRf class 66, 66711 Sence, with a Liverpool - Drax P.S. biomass working at Earlestown, on 5th July 2017.

Next is GBRf class 66, 66714 Cromer Lifeboat, also taken at Earlestown on the same date. The working was the reverse of the above, a Drax P.S. - Liverpool biomass empties, via Chat Moss.

Jeff's final shot was of DRS class 88, 88006 Daring, heading the 'Tesco Express' through Winwick on 5th July 2017.

Next are six new shots taken on three Preserved Railways by David Quayle. First up is a Beamish Museum' shot of the Elephant locomotive. It is a replica of a Wallsend wagonway engine built on site, in 2002. The pic is dated 25th May 2017.

This one was taken on the ELR at Rawtenstall on 21st June 2017. Pictured is ex GWR Hawksworth 'Modified Hall' 4-6-0, No.6990 Witherslack Hall, at the water tower.

Next are four shots taken on the Bluebell Railway. Ex SR Maunsell 'Q' class, 0-6-0 tender locomotive No.30541, is pictured at Sheffield Park on 26th June 2017.

Ex LB&SCR class 'E4'  0-6-2, No.473 Birch Grove, is shown in the shed at Sheffield Park, on 26th June 2017.

Ex BR 'Standard' class 2-10-0, No.92240, is up next, taken on 28th June 2017 at the same location.

Finally, three locos are depicted at Sheffield Park on 26th June 2017. EX SER 'O1' class 0-6-0 tender loco No.65, is pictured beside ex BR 'Standard' class '5MT' 4-6-0, No.73082 Camelot. Directly behind No.65, is ex SE&CR 'H' class 0-6-0 tender locomotive, No.263.

A Mix of Motive Power

Today's post, 23rd July 2017, comprises nineteen pics - covering steam, diesel and electric motive power -  sent in by three contributors.

WINWICK AND BEYOND

Bevan Price is up first with three shots. The first shows GBRf (Aggregate Industries livery) class 66, 66711 Sence at Summit Tunnel West (Littleborough) on 12th July 2017. The working is a Liverpool - Drax P.S. biomass.

Also taken at the same location on the same date was DB (EWS livery) class 66, 66142 on a Wilton - Knowsley empty 'binliner' working.

Bevan's third pic was taken at Pemberton on 3rd July 2017. pictured is DB class 66, 66019 with another 'binliner' working.

The following six shots are from Jeff Nicholls.

Up first are two shots of class 57s taken at Paddington Station on 6th July 2017. The working was the GWR 'Night Riviera' sleeper service to Penzance. 57603, Tintagel Castle, (left) had brought in empty stock and 57605, Totnes Castle, (right) would head the train out of the station.

Pic three shows a Heathrow Express, Siemens/CAF unit, 332005, also at Paddington on the same date.

Ex BR 'Merchant Navy' class 4-6-2 is up next, No.35028 Clan Line, photographed in Battersea Loop on  7th July 2017. The loco had just backed its support coach onto a Belmond Pullman service which would then head for Victoria Station with a diesel up front.

Next from Jeff is a 4-car Docklands Railway service depicted at Canary Wharf on a Lewisham-bound service. The pic is dated 7th July 2017.

Pic six takes us back to Winwick on 11th July 2017, with a class 40, 40145 taking a couple of class 47s, 47712 Lady Diana Spencer and 47192 to Crewe, from Bury, where they had featured in the recent Diesel Gala.

The following six pics are courtesy of Geoff Monks. His first shows ex GWR Modified Hall class 4-6-0 No.6990 Witherslack Hall bringing in empty stock for a working to Rawtenstall, into Bury, on the ELR on 17th June 2017.

The same loco is pictured awaiting departure from Bury with a train to Rawtenstall on the same date.

No.6990 is again to the fore in Geoff's third shot after leaving Ramsbottom on a Bury - Rawtenstall service on 18th June 2017.

Freightliner class 66, 66418 Patriot, is up next on a Crewe - Stalybridge (via Copy Pit) engineers' working on 18th June 2017.

Winwick is the location for Geoff's fifth shot. Pictured are double heading Freightliner class 90s - 90044 and 90048 - heading a Daventry - Coatbridge intermodal working on 25th June 2017.
The same working was pictured on 18th June at Winwick, with double heading Freightliner class 90s at the head again. They were 90049 and 90048.
Four more pics from Jeff Nicholls now follow. DB (EWS livery) class 66, 66090 was taken at Vulcan Village on the daily Knowsley - Wilton 'binliner' working on 5th July 2017.
Unfortunately  a major error has occurred and I must terminate this post. Jeff's other three pics will be displayed in a short post, very shortly.
