100,000 HITS

Well done to all our contributors and viewers as we hit the 100,000 mark on the hit counter. Today's  post comprises 14 pics from 7 contributors.

WINWICK and ELSEWHERE

First up is a shot from John Smith showing a DRS class 57, 57308 towing a Virgin 'Super Voyager' class 221, 221114,  on a Burton-under-Needwood to Polmadie working. John's shot is dated 9th March 2014.

Next is the 'Streak' of Jeremy Hosking heading the 'Cumbrian Ranger' railtour in this pic from Ieuan Wood. The Gresley 4-6-2 No.4464 Bittern was pictured at Winwick on 15th March 2014. The railtour ran Tyseley - Crewe - Carlisle and return.

Our third pic has been sent in by Bob McClellan. Pictured is the Drax biomass liveried class 60, 60066, approaching Fiddlers Ferry Marina  with a coal working on 4th March 2014.

Pic number four is from David Quayle.Ian Riley's 'Black Five' 4-6-0 No.44871 is pictured at Winwick with support coach on an ELR-Southall working. David adds that the loco was due to double head a train to Buxton on 15th March 2014 with 'Black Five' 4-6-0 No.45231.

Next up is a Jeff Nicholls' foursome put together as a montage for this post. The class 87, 87002 Royal Sovereign has been seen around Bank Quay for months and Jeff took advantage by taking several different shots on 7th March 2014.

David Wood has sent in pic number six showing EWS (DBS) class 92, 92037 Sullivan on the Tesco express, through Winwick on 15th March 2014.

David has also sent in the next pic of Colas Rail track machine DR73909 Saturn, taken at Daresbury on 3rd March 2014.

Pic number eight is from Jeff Nicholls; featured is the Gresley 'K4' class 2-6-0, No.61994 The Great Marquess of Scottish farmer John Cameron. The working, with support coach, was Crewe - Keighley, the location was Golborne and the date, 5th March 2014.

It's a long time since I posted any pics but here are a couple taken over the last few days. The first shows Ian Riley's 'Black Five' 4-6-0 No.44871 again. The location was Winwick and the date, 14th march 2014.

Jeremy Hosking's 'Streak', No.4464 Bittern  is also depicted again, this time at Red Bank on 15th March 2014. The lighting was great but the wind direction was totally wrong for my pic. Just my luck.

The pair shown in our first pic are up again in pic number eleven from Ieuan Wood. DRS class 57 57308 is shown towing Virgin 'Super Voyager' class 221, 221114, at Winwick on 9th March 2014.

Pic twelve is from Bob McClellan. Pictured is DBS class 60, 60100 on the Preston tanks working at Parkside Junction. Bob's shot is dated 3rd March 2014.

Thompson 'B1' class 4-6-0 No. 61264 is up next in this shot from David Quayle. The loco is shown traversing the Brooksbottom Viaduct on the ELR with a parcels charter on 4th February 2014.

David has also sent in the fourteenth shot taken on the ELR but on a different date to the above. 'Black Five' 4-6-0 No.45379 is shown passing over the River Roch Viaduct at Bury, on 22nd February 2014.
