'Pics of the Month, July 2013' - RESULTS

Well done to Ieuan Wood and Colin Platt, the winners of our July monthly competition. Their pics and those of Winwick runners up are shown below in today's post, 3rd September 2013.

WINWICK

1st July W6  Ieuan Wood

Ieuan's shot features ex LMS  Stanier 'Black Five', No.44932, with support coach. The location was Winwick and the date, 1st July 2013.

2nd July W7  Geoff Monks

Colas Rail class 56s, 56105 and 56087, double heading the Carlisle - Chirk logs working are pictured in this shot from Geoff. The location was the old Cheshire Lines bridge adjacent to Froghall Lane, Warrington; the date was 11th July 2013.

3rd July W12  Colin Platt

Colin's pic shows ex BR 'Standard' class '7' 4-6-2, No.70013 Oliver Cromwell on a Southall - Crewe - Castleton Hopwood GF (Bury) move. On the Southall - Crewe leg 70013 was accompanied by Bullied 'BoB' class 4-6-2, No.34067 Tangmere. Both locos had diesel support; 70013 was 'pushed' by WCRC class 47, 47245, from Crewe. The location was Newton-le-Willows Station and the date, 25th July 2013.

ALTERNATIVE UK PICS

1st July A19  Colin Platt

Colin's shot shows ex LMS Stanier 'Princess Coronation' class 4-6-2, No.46233 Duchess of Sutherland heading the Liverpool - Carlisle 'Cumbrian Mountain Express'. The location was Eccleston Park, Prescot and the date, 27th July 2013.

Colin's shot was a clear winner with 8 points but eight other shots tied for second place with 3 points each, therefore none are shown.  They were A1, 8, 10, 12, 20, 21, 22 and 26. The spread of points in this section was unprecedented even though only seven persons bothered to vote. If this latter situation continues there will be no competitions next year as there are more important things I can do with my time.

I will post some remaining August dated pics in the next post. Following this voting for August can begin.
