Seven from Seven

Seven pics are featured in today's post, 2nd February 2012, sent in by seven different photographers - three from our Winwick patch and four from further afield in the UK.

WINWICK

Two class 60 locos are up first. The first pic is from Bob McClellan. Pictured is Transrail liveried class 60, 60056 William Beverage, heading aggregate hopper wagons, southbound through Winwick, on 24th August 2005.

The next class 60, pic number two, has been sent in by Ken Young. The TATA steel liveried 60099 is shown exiting Latchford sidings with a coal working. Freightliner class 66, 66566 waits in the background with another coal working. Ken's shot is dated 9th January 2012.

The third shot in this Winwick section is from myself. DRS class 66, 66434, is currently liveried in the new Malcolm colours and was featured in the previous post, 22nd January 2012. My shot reminds you of how it looked in its previous Fastline livery in a pic from 24th April 2010. The working was an empty logs.

ALTERNATIVE UK PICS

First up in this section is another one from Geoff Monks' extensive collection. This one is from 18th November 1989 and shows a superb night-time view of two  preserved locomotives at Loughborough shed. On the left is No. 506 Butler Henderson, one of John Robinson's 'Improved Director' class of 4-4-0 locomotives of the GCR, and on the right is one of Frederick Hawksworth's modified 'Hall' class 4-6-0 locomotives No.6990 Witherslack Hall, of the GWR.

Pic number five shows the ex L&NWR class 'G2' 0-8-0, No.49395, (built in 1921) at the East Lancashire Railway Gala at Bury on 21st January 2012. The photographer was David Quayle.

Next up, pic number six, is from Jeff Nicholls. Ex GER/LNER Holden/Gresley class B12, 4-6-0 locomotive No. 61752, is shown at Burrs on the East Lancs Railway on 25th January 2004.

The final pic, number four, is from John Smith. The location was Oakenshaw, Wakefield  and the loco was EWS (DBS) class 66, 66142, working Manchester - Roxby. The pic is dated 4th April 2007.
