Alternative Photographs (13)

I am receiving an excellent response to the 'open season' on photographs and today, 8th July 2011, I am including another five pics from five contributors. Please be patient if you have sent in pics that I havn't used yet, they will be used in following posts.

The first pic is from Richard Jones. Depicted is SGS No.2525 leaving Malakwal (Pakistan) with a mixed freight working in December 1989.

Next up is is a shot from Paul Holland taken at Barrow Hill Roundhouse. Class 40, 40013 / D213 Andiana (Cunard Lines) is pictured on the turntable. The pic is dated October 2010.

Geoff Monks has supplied the next shot showing two trains approaching each other. 'Deltic' class 55, 55022 / D9000 Royal Scots Grey, on hire to GBRf, is featured at Freemans Crossing, Cambois waiting to enter North Blyth's ALCAN terminal with an empty working from Lynemouth. Class 66, 66728 Institution of Railway Operators, sporting the latest GBRf livery, is exiting the coal terminal with a loaded working for Drax Power Station. This pic is dated 4th May 2011.

David Wood has sent in pic number four showing Stanier 'Black Five' 4-6-0, No.45305, heading a Liverpool - Manchester -Scarborough 'Coast to Coast Express' out of Rainhill on 2nd July 2011.

The Great Central Railway is the venue for the next shot from John Smith.  One of the 2800 class of 2-8-0 locomotives introduced by G.J.Churchward in 1902 is shown on a freight working on 29th January 2011. This loco, No. 3850, is one of the improved last batch introduced from 1938, under Charles Collett.
