The first pic is from newcomer Barry Rigby. His shot depicts BR 'Standard' class 8P, No. 71000 Duke of Gloucester, passing through Winwick with a support coach on 25th October 2010. Barry describes his day trip to Winwick as follows "a Boltoner, on a day out". You're very welcome to our blog Barry. 'The Duke' was built at Crewe in 1954 but lasted only eight years before withdrawal. 'The 71000 Steam Locomotive Trust' operates the giant 4-6-2 from its home base at the East Lancashire Railway.
